Seeing Dunkirk in IMAX resulted in approximately a half-day of PTSD. Something about the immersive cinematography and near first-person point of view filming put me right in the middle of the action. In parts of the movie I felt that the filming needed to make up for deficiencies in the casting and script, but that was easily forgotten when I had to grimace at impending doom again. Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk represents a unique style of war movie that I think will open the door to more look-backs on military history.
