WordSlinger's Review

Summary - Very Good 3.5

An interesting and original idea that was well presented, but did not fully live up to the potential the story had.

Acting - Great 4.0

The vampires are refreshingly old-school. Dark, vicious, hunters, not the gothic oversexed characters we’ve become accustomed to. Josh Hartnett is the only questionable casting choice, as he doesn’t bring enough emotion to the role.

Male Stars - Great 4.0

Female Stars - Great 4.0

Female Costars - Great 4.0

Male Costars - Great 4.0

Film - Good 3.0

Great look, but there are some significant issues with pacing. The events of the film are meant to span a month, but are portrayed in a way that they could occur in a single evening.

Direction - Good 3.0

Dialogue - Good 3.0

Music - Good 3.0

Visuals - Good 3.0

Edge - Sordid 2.7

No sex or serious language to speak of, but the violence is brutal and bloody. The vampires are quick to slaughter most of the town, leaving giant pools of blood everywhere.

Sex Titillating 2.1

Violence Savage 4.0

Rudeness Salty 2.0

Reality - Supernatural 4.0

Vampires… enough said.

Circumstantial - Supernatural 4.0

Biological - Supernatural 4.0

Physical - Supernatural 4.0
