Admirably straight depiction of a legendary battle. The circumstantial reality the movie depicts was stupendously beyond anything that came before it, or has come since. Has Clint put it up there faithfully? He seems to have, though his depiction of the stateside PR program to which the heroes were drafted bears the whiff of filmmaker bias.
