BrianSez's Review

Summary - Very Good 3.5

This is a great film about prep school life in the 50’s and the prevalent prejudice and anti-semitism portrayed by the privileged. Brendan Fraser did very well as a closet-Jewish kid at the Waspy prep-school, and Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Chris O’Donnel show great talent at a time when they were still not main-stream stars. It is ironic that Brendan went on to meaningless roles like ‘George of the Jungle’. Although I’m not old enough to know for sure, it seems like the portrayal of attitudes back in the 50’s is accurate, and the dramatic character studies were very interesting as was the overall story. This movie is definitely worth seeing.
