A memorable slice of pie. Makes you think what you are deep inside.
Andy Griffith almost steals the show from female lead Keri Russell. Shelley plays a quiet waitress herself. All three women discuss and seek happiness in their lives, while the audience really invests in them emotionally.
The late Adreinne Shelly directed, co-star, co-wrote and wrote songs for this well though out little gem. A larger budget would’ve allowed even more quality.
Jeremy Sisto (“Clueless”) creates some tension as an abusive husband to Keri Russell. Things get hot and heavy during the affair scenes between Russell and the doctor as well. Some crude, funny sexual references.
The girl is not rescued here and she solves her own problems – a refreshing, rare experience in film these days. It’s nice that there’s no big confrontation between the guys. The dialogue is great, matching the characters perfectly.
