A well thought out movie in what has almost become a genre unto itself, the ‘fixer’ drama. Michael Clayton cleans up the messes of the people he works for by any means needed. The only drawback I see to this movie is the choice of story telling, that is, we are shown a bit of the beginning, and then recieve a ‘Four days earlier’ title card, then the movie really starts. This is a very good fit to the story, however people generally seem to have a negative reaction to movies with this format.
George Clooney gives a very fine performance, along the line of his work in Syriana. Perhaps not his best work, but a well rounded character portrayed with conviction. The supporting cast also deserves recognition for their understated roles in the film.
Explicit talk of sexual acts.
Assassination by staged suicide of a character.
Coarse language.
