Although Clooney and Cast provided believable personas in this complex film, it was a bit too complex to keep me as rivited as much as I expect from a top notch thriller. Call me plebian, but I’d prefer to have seen more straight forward fix-it scenarios and action than the deep-ish twisting plot that needed to be followed closely. To be sure, the movie was enjoyable — and worth viewing — just don’t expect to be blown away (as Michael almost was) by this film.
I thought Clooney did great as Clayton — facing a myriad of issues in his life — both personal and professional. As a person in my mid-40’s, I identified with the internal struggle that he portrayed — stuck in between the rock of a stressful job and the hard-place of needing that job to take care of business. Of course, Clayton does me one better – he has to deal with daily moral dilemas as a fixer of messy situations.
