BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

Period movies are usually hard for me to follow, but this movie was fun to keep up with. Cate Blanchett is masterful as the powerful but vulnerable queen, and Clive Owen stands out from the court as the strong and stoic man that would have her heart even though the beautiful Abbie Cornish would have his. Set against the ever growing threat of an encroaching Spain and a scheming cousin Mary, the stress-level was just right for an intriging drama that let you escape to a long ago time and a far away place.
