Summary - Perfect 5.0

Absolutely the best TV series I have ever watched!! The show follows both the Baltimore cops as well as the Baltimore drug rings for 5 tremendous seasons, often showing that even cops can act like criminals and criminals like cops. The acting is so perfect, so totally believable, that you forget that you’re not standing on the streets of Baltimore watching real life unfold. The writing is absolutely brilliant as well, with each season following the drug trade through different facets of Balitmore life: the streets, the shipping docks, the politics, the schools, and finally the news media.

Be ready for a lesson in ebonics, though — the first episode or two took some concentration until I got used to the “street speak.”

  Easily better than the Sopranos (especially because the last season or two of Sopranos got progressively worse), better than the episodes of Deadwood that I have seen (not saying that Deadwood wasn’t great though), never watched much Seinfeld (but yes, The Wire is better), and those others aren’t even on my list of best shows.
