izzio's Review

Summary - OK 2.5

What I thought would be a funny movie, turned out to be a long, drawn-out drama. The story is about George Simmons, (Adam Sandler) a comedian who is told he has a certain amount of time left before he dies. The first hour of the movie was pretty funny. Not the usual Adam Sandler funny, but still pretty good. Then, later in the movie, you find out he isn’t going to die. Why didn’t I say spoiler alert? Because they spoiled it IN THE TRAILER. Obviously, if they said it in the trailer, its not going to end there, and it didn’t. The second hour dragged on so horribly. It was almost as if there was a different movie on the screen. If they had made the doctor telling him he wasn’t going to die the end, and cut out the last hour, this movie would get at least a 4.

Acting - Good 3.0

Adam Sandler wasn’t his best in this movie, and definitley doesn’t work well with Seth Rogen.

Male Stars - Good 3.0

Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler don't work well together, and I hope they don't do antoher film together.

Female Stars - Good 3.0

Just average

Female Costars - Good 3.0

Average

Male Costars - Really Great 4.5

The bad thing about this movie is that Jonah Hill, who is barely even shown, was funnier than the main actors. I think he could've replaced Seth Rogen. Too bad.

Film - OK 2.5

The original concept of the movie was pretty good, but adding a whole other hour was a huge mistake.

Direction - Barely OK 2.0

Not well done, simply because of the second hour.

Dialogue - Good 3.0

Good, but it seemed most of the jokes were very phallic.

Music - Good 3.0

Nothing special, just music from soundtracks.

Visuals - Very Good 3.5

Very average, although there really couldnt have been an improvement in visuals.

Edge - Sordid 3.2

Very sexual content throughout, and even a scene of sex.

Sex Lewd 4.0

2 seperate sex scenes

Violence Gentle 1.5

Nothing much, just some punching

Rudeness Nasty 4.0

Quite a profane movie.

Reality - Glib 1.3

A lot of how the characters acted would not be like that in real life.

Circumstantial - Glib 2.0

Nobody would be absolutley relaxed after finding out theyre going to die.

Biological - Natural 1.0

Physical - Natural 1.0

    Regarding izzio’s Review
I’d have to disagree, Sandler and Rogen had very good comedic chemistry. However, I agree on the film being too long. I thought they could’ve cut it down a little bit.
