The only thing this film tries to do, is think up new, funny, and inventive ways to re-do cliched zombie monets. Thats it. Thinks like ‘character’ and ‘plot’ don’t matter, although they are good if pretty standard, what matters is if using the standard characters in the standard situation, they can do something new and fun.
And they do. In fact the opening quarter hour is basiclly perfect, although I may be slightly biased because they chose to set the “ironic zombie attack”/credit montage to For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica (love that song). The film drags as it continues, but theirs more than enough interesting moments to keep you interested til the end.
If, like me, you like zombies and you want to see something fun and inventive, this is your film.
Cliche characters made believable and likeable by solid performances. Not oscar worthy, but suit the film.
Some swaring, quite a bit of violence although not gor for the sake of gore, instead slight gore for the sake of laughter.
Zombies.
Regarding John A Massie’s Review
“cliched zombie monets” or “cliched zombie moments”?
Either way, good review.
