A Perfect Getaway was suprisingly a good film. It didn’t get boring, nor did it get ridiculous. After seeing the trailer, I thought it would be just another cheesy horror flick that everyone would forget about. I definitley wasn’t. The story was very original, the action sequences kept me entertained, and the twist ending was actually pretty smart. Regardless, I felt some of what the characters did made no sense to the twist ending. But don’t worry, the twist actually makes sense. Their depiction of Hawaii was beautiful- CGI or not, and now I have to go there. Something the film did that not many other horror films do, is that they really built the character development- I started caring for the characters. If you’re looking for a good, new horror movie, I recommend A Perfect Getaway.
Milla Jovovich and Steve Zahn worked really well together. They made a believeable couple, along with Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez.
I loved some of the little editing tricks used in the movie, such as when a black and white flashback where the only color was blood. Also, as I said, Hawaii was amazing, wheather it was CGI or not, and the music selections worked very well where they were put.
Some nudity in skinny dipping scenes, and some pretty graphic stabbings and shootings.
Somewhat realistic- that’s what makes it so scary.
Regarding izzio’s Review
Happy to see Perfect Getaway get another fan Iz. It ended up being kind of a sleeper.
Regarding Wick’s Review
Yeah, I think you’ll like it. Judging by the trailers they ran before it, they seem to be targeting the horror audience.
