I love Tarantino. I love martial arts. I love ultra violent thrill rides. Mix it all together and what do you got? Kill Bill Vol. 1. Quentin Tarantino’s two part epic about a woman out for blood. Uma Thurman plays the Bride (her real name isn’t revealed). She awakens from a four year coma after being beaten half to death by her former boss Bill and his four deadly assasins known as the Deadly Viper Assasination Squad. She goes on a quest for revenge that takes her from Pasadena to Okinawa to Tokyo. I’m not trying to give away anything, but the ending to the film will leave you BEGGING for more! But don’t worry I’ll get to Vol. 2 another day.
Kill Bill is a hellofa lotta fun. While I wouldn’t say its as brilliant as Pulp Fiction, its my second favorite Tarantino flick and easily one of the best of the last decade.
Uma Thurman is awesome as The Bride. She’s easily the most badass movie heroine I’ve seen since Ripley from Alien. Uma Thurman is tough as nails in this movie and won’t let anything get in the way of her revenge. We also get great support from the late great David “Kung Fu” Carradine as Bill. We hardly even see his face and yet he leaves such a dark impact on the viewer and you can’t wait to see him get his come uppins. We also get strong performances from Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, and Darryl Hannah.
The action sequences are beyond incredible and the violence(while not reallistic) is very cool to watch. The cinematography is amazing as well. Tarantino is an excelletn camera man and love the way he works the camera in every seen. The shots are extremely creative and very well done. The dialogue isn’t quite on par with some of his other films, but is still very well done and remains music to his fans’ ears.
Parents, hire a sitter….
Its like live action anime folks, its beyond implausible.
