I have been looking forward to Toy Story 3 for a LONG time. Not only is the first film my favorite Pixar film, but it also happens to be the greatest animated film I’ve ever seen. The second one is equivalent in greatness to the first and is tied with it for my favorite Pixar film. So, where does that place the third film? Well, lets just say that like trilogies such as Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Back to the Future, this is a trilogy in which each film is a 5/5, 10/10, A+ movie. Toy Story 3 brings back all the charm of the original, has a story filled with not only humor, but heartwarming emotion as well.
The film takes place about ten years after the first one. Andy is now 17 years old and heading off to college. But what will become of the toys he has left? Well, his toys are accidentally shipped off to a daycare center that looks pleasant, but turns out to be a nightmare. I won’t give anything away, but let’s just say its a bumpy and unpredictable ride.
Not since The Dark Knight has a film fully lived up to the hype and given everyone what they wanted. Toy Story 3 is easily the best film of the year so far and proves once again that Pixar can never go wrong.
