moviedude's Review

Summary - Good 3.0

Didn’t necessarily require a lot of thinking, but managed to evolve into a hilarious, heartwarming story about how it is never to late to find sex…uh, love. Hehe.

Acting - Great 4.0

Steve Carell plays Andy, the lovable, sex deprived idiot, just looking for a relationship. Paul Rudd, Romany Malco, and Seth Rogen accompany him as the sex-obsessed pals, all serving hilarious performances.

Male Stars - Great 4.0

Steve Carell deserves applause for being nothing less than hysterical!

Female Stars - Great 4.0

Female Costars - Great 4.0

Male Costars - Great 4.0

Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd - always funny!

Film - Very Good 3.5

Judd Apatow produces his first major hit, and is indeed a hit in my book as well. Disgustingly perverse and ribald, but an enjoyable watch nonetheless, comedic talent creates a solid film with the message that love is possible at any point in someone’s life.

Direction - Very Good 3.5

Dialogue - Great 4.0

Very funny dialogue.

Music - Good 3.0

Visuals - Very Good 3.5

Ouch! A chest wax!

Edge - Horrid 3.8

A NO KIDS ALLOWED film…that’s all I can say. Sex, drinking, references to all kinds of perverse acts and vulgar language on top of it all. Funny for an older crowd.

Sex Explicit 5.0

Violence Gentle 1.5

Rudeness Vile 5.0

Reality - Glib 2.0

A plausible plot. That’s what makes it amusing. It will hit close to home for many teens and young adults.

Circumstantial - Glib 2.0

Biological - Glib 1.5

Physical - Surreal 2.5

    Regarding moviedude’s Review
Your Film commentary nails this movie Dude. Looking back, it’s the textbook for the entire Apatow canon that’s followed.
